Industry and Stakeholder Outreach

About the Project

Academic outreach is a two-way communication channel to help connect the stakeholders and the researchers to serve the community at the local, state, and/or national level. Extension and outreach activities will be conducted to help producers and industry stakeholders make their operations profitable and sustainable. To that end, in the first year, broiler producers across the country will be surveyed to determine how they are currently managing various challenges (environmental, nutritional, welfare, disease prevention, production quality) under ABR conditions. This will be accomplished through participation of extension educators, producer organizations, and stakeholders. Survey data will be analyzed to determine common practices, their effectiveness, and economic viability. Results will be used to identify areas for improvement and discussed with the research and education teams to develop a comprehensive outreach program.
